Learning Together, Growing Stronger.

30th June

Today we are going to start planning a science fiction story! I'm sure there are lots of sci-fi stories you already know (you may have heard of Star Wars?) Your story should be an adventure story about a trip to Mars. You already have plenty of research from your work yesterday, and if you can work in some real facts about Mars and NASA's plans for the future, it will make your story more engaging and believable.

Below is a planning sheet and some questions to get you thinking:

  • What will the setting of your sci-fi story be like? Will it be set on a spaceship or on Mars?
  • What will your characters look like?
  • What problems will your characters encounter?

Create a piece of art based on the story you have started planning. It could a of  scene from your story, or something more abstract. Peter Thorpe is an artist who specialises in creating space-themed abstract art using geometric shapes. Take a look at some of his work below, it may inspire you!
