Learning Together, Growing Stronger.

Year 3 Gallery

Keep looking back here to see updated photos of the work children have been doing in class. We also like to use the school twitter account (@AlwoodleyPS) to share some of our brilliant learning with you too.

The children are really enjoying their ball skills PE sessions with their class teachers. 3JM have worked on sending and receiving a tennis ball and have now started to challenge themselves with basketballs. Today they tried to learn the bounce pass and the chest pass.

During our geography lesson today, the children were asked to locate points on a map using four-figure grid references. The children had an opportunity to make their own map and then challenge someone in the classroom to locate places on a map.

Mr Fletcher has been coming in from Art Forms and teaching the Year 3 children the Bamboo Tamboo. They've loved every session thinking about pulse, rhythm and playing together at the same time.

In Spanish, we have been learning simple phrases. Most recently, children have been learning to how to respond if someone asks their name.

3JM loved going outside to do their learning in maths today. The playground was covered in accurate and well presented calculations.

This week, Year 3 have been using their place value knowledge and presenting it using our "connecting" thinking frame.

Today, Year 3 used place value grids and counters to make different 3-digit numbers.
