English - Story Writing

First, re-read what you have written so far and check it makes sense and remind yourself what has happened.

Today we are going to finish our story solving the dilemma or problem. So you need to go back to your ideas and plans and check them out. You may have changed your plans which is fine but you need to have a final end to your story in your head. You may find it useful to talk to someone about the story and see if they like your idea.

Tips for Writing an Ending

  1. Avoid the to-neat ending. In other words, don't wrap it up and seal it up tight.
  2. Look to your beginning to find your ending.
  3. Write provisional endings as your story progresses and choose your best one.
  4. A good story ends loosely and lets the reader think about alternative endings themselves.
  5. Avoid repeating what has happened in the story so far.

Here is a video to help you think about endings.

Don't worry about editing your story we will do that tomorrow. Just get your ideas down.
