Learning Together, Growing Stronger.

Tuesday 12th May

English

Yesterday, you were asked to plan the a story that followed the 'story mountain' template. Hopefully, you should have thought about:

  • what the setting of your story will be
  • an idea of the plot and structure of your story
  • who your characters are and what they look like
  • the problem your characters will encounter and how they will solve them

Now we would like you to write the opening chapter to your story. You should think of an interesting way to capture the reader right from the start. Make sure you describe your setting in this first chapter, as well as provide a character description for your main character.

Remember earlier in the year when we learned how to code using Scratch? Why not get onto the online version of Scratch and have a go at animating your own cartoon? The link below will take you to a tutorial showing you how to animate a cartoon using words, costumes and movement.
