Wednesday 6th May
Hi Year 6,
Did you know that because of VE day, this Friday is a bank holiday. That means that this week is a 4-day home school week, yay! It might be a good idea to see if your street/local community are doing anything to celebrate VE day. For example, on Mrs Denham's street, they are going to have a sing-a-long at 11am where everyone will sing the same song together from their doorstep. It'll sound lovely...
Miss Pattenden's road are all putting bunting up in their windows and having a cup of tea in the garden (socially distancing of course!).
English: Today you are going to begin writing up your arguments. Remember, this is a formal piece of work; imagine you are in a courtroom speaking to some of the most important people in the field of law.
Maths: We really hope you're having lots of success with fractions this week. We know you can do it so keep at it!
Alternative Game: We love a game of rock, paper, scissors. You can play it anywhere, it requires no equipment or setting up, and is perfect for most ages (George isn't quite there yet but Mrs Denham is working on it).
Today we'd like you to create your own version based on rock, paper, scissors. Think of the three items or characters, what action is going to represent them and who beats who. The plan below might help.
Once finished, teach someone - or everyone - in your house and send us a photo of the game in action.
