Hand washing

Can you make a hand washing video with a song and send it to 2Simple?

 

If you are really clever and know all about how to brush your teeth, you might like to send us a video of instructions for this too. Remember to try use some time connectives; First ....Then..... Next ....After that... Finally.....

 

We are really looking forward to watching your home videos. 

Making 10

Can you use objects around your house to make the number 10 in lots of different ways? Try to use addition and subtraction language (add, plus, takeaway, minus, equals) whilst making it.

The Clock Tower Animation Video

 

Please watch this video with your child. 

Watch the video through first together. Then re-play the video stopping it in places to ask your child questions about it;

The opening shots of the village present an ideal opportunity to use rich description.

Can you child think of 3 words to describe the village? eg colourful, pretty etc

 

The part where the lady walks outside and the village changes offers and ideal opportunity to use comparative language.

How has it changed? Can your child think of 3 words to describe the village now?

How do you think the lady is feeling seeing the village quiet and still?

Is she happier inside working the clock or outside in the village? Can you explain why?

 

Play the video to the end and ask.

Why did the lady go back into the tower and begin working the clock again?

Why was she happy to keep doing this?

 

You might want to explain to your child that the lady had an important job to do inside and that her job needed to be done otherwise the world around her changed. You could discuss that this is what alot of key workers are doing at the moment. They are woring inside the hospitals to help people.

Discuss ways in which they can help others whilst they are inside e.g. To skype an elderly relative and give them a cheery greeting. To make a greeting card for a family member.

 

This children could then go on to create their own fairy tale village using junk materials.

They could populate it with their own lolly stick or playdough characters. 

Can you make up a story to go with your village and characters?

 

This video or picture of their village, could be sent to 2Simple. We can then upload some onto the website for others to see. You might like to write a story about the girl in the tower.  You could create a story based on her rescue eg linked with the Rapunzel story that they know.

 

Have fun thinking making and creating your own story. We will look forward to receiving them.
